Welcome to The Cairnbaan Hotel, Hotel in Argyll. The Cairnbaan Hotel is situated at Lock 5, approximately halfway along the 9 mile-long Crinan Canal.

The Cairnbaan Hotel was built in the latter part of the 18th century as a coaching inn to serve fishermen and puffers trading on the Crinan Canal.

Now, refurbished, it offers you a warm welcome typical of the West Coast.

Dine in our a la carte restaurant which specialises in the use of fresh local produce – scallops, langoustine and game.

Enjoy a lighter meal, if you prefer, from our Bistro style menu in the relaxed atmosphere of the bar. Conservatory Lounge or Al Fresco.

There are many interesting places to visit in the surrounding area. At Kilmartin you can find Temple Wood and Nether Largie South Cairn both dating back to 3000 BC.

Cairnbaan Hotel is a special place to hundreds of people and has many claims to fame.

The hotel has played host to several famous guests, including The Princess Royal, Vice Admiral Lawrence, President Bill Clinton and Congresswoman Hilary Clinton.
