Bed & Breakfast in Oban

Welcome to Glenbervie Guest House, Bed & Breakfast in Oban. Glenbervie Guest House is a traditional Victorian house recognised as one of Oban’s premier guest houses enjoying magnificant views overlooking picturesque Oban Bay to the islands of Kerrera and Mull, yet is only a two minute walk from town centre, promenade and harbour amenities.

Glenbervie’s accommodation comprises of 5 double rooms, 1 twin bedded room (all en-suite), and 2 single rooms sharing a bathroom. Ground floor has 1 double room, 1 twin room and dining room. First floor has 3 double rooms, residents’ lounge and bathroom and 3rd floor has 1 double and 2 single rooms. Each room has been tastefully decorated with all that is expected in 4 star accommodation creating a relaxing atmosphere for our guests to unwind. Car parking for six cars.

The residents’ lounge, overlooking the bay, has a range of interesting books, magazines and local literature and is an excellent room to relax after a busy day or outside on the patio area taking in one of Oban’s spectacular sunsets.

The dining room on the ground floor has recently been refurbished, creating a relaxing atmosphere where guests can enjoy a traditional Highland breakfast with the view over the bay and prints from local artist John Lowrie Morrison; “Jolomo”.

Within 5 minutes walk of Glenbervie there is a range of restaurants, 3 of which we highly recommend, Ee-usk, Cuan Mor and The Waterfront Restaurant. Also available are traditional bars and hotels providing cosmopolitan cuisine to suit all tastes.

Oban is recognised as the “Gateway to the Isles” with ferry access to Mull, Iona, Tiree, Coll and Colonsay offering a variety of day trips. The most popular is the “Three Isles trip” taking in Mull, Iona (Iona Abbey where St. Columba brought Christianity to Scotland) finishing off with a trip to Staffa to view Fingal’s Cave immortalised in Mendelssohn’s overture.

If however you wish to have an Oban day just wander down the winding streets overlooking the bay buzzing with activity, then a walk up to the coliseum, McCaig’s Tower high above the town with stunning views over the bay and beyond, finishing off with a visit to sample the delights of Oban Distillery.

Opposite Glenbervie on Dalriach Road is Oban Bowling Club and Atlantis Leisure, with Swimming, Tennis, Squash and Gymnasium all open to the public. There is a two screen cinema in the town which is a short walk away. Golf is available with a testing 18 hole course within a 5 minute drive and Sea Life Centre and Cruachan’s famous “Hollow Mountain” Visitor Centre are all within a 15 mile radius of Oban.
