Potters Barn:
The self catering holiday apartment is modern and well-equipped, offering a spacious living/dining room, kitchen and 3 bedrooms. Wi-Fi is available in the flat on request.
The sitting room and dining area in Potters Barn covers the entire second floor under the roof. This spacious area has the original barn timbers and their corbels and it also has five big velux windows which makes it a very light room with, depending on your height, a great view! The sitting room is equipped with a television and video. The dining area is part of the sitting room and easily seats 6 people. There are three bedrooms in Potters Barn Holiday Accommodation.
A double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. A twin-bedded room and a room with adult-sized bunk beds. These two rooms share a bathroom with shower and washbasin, and a separate toilet. We can supply a cot on request. All bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels. We can supply towels if your travel arrangements mean you are unable to do so, please contact us in advance. Potters Barn kitchen is modern and very well-equipped with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher etc. There are plenty of cupboards and all crockery and cutlery is provided. The kitchen also has an airer which can be very useful for drying damp walking clothes. Potters Barn has its own sunny patio area where you can relax in the sun or enjoy a barbeque.
Well Cottage:
Well Holiday Cottage is a 17th Century stone self catering cottage, the earliest part of Hardingill House, an old Cumbrian farmhouse. There is holiday accommodation for up to five people. It can be let in conjunction with Potters Barn – making it ideal for families who would like to holiday together whilst enjoying their own house. The sitting room has a southern aspect and is a lovely sunny room with a large window looking out onto the garden and a door to the patio. It is equipped with an electric fire, television and DVD.
On the first floor of Well Holiday Cottage there are two bedrooms. A double room, with an ensuite bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. The second bedroom has twin beds and its own washbasin and toilet. A bedroom for one person is on the ground floor which has access to a family bathroom with a bath. This would enable a person with limited mobility have full access on the ground floor and into the garden. All bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels. We can supply towels by arrangement. Well Cottage kitchen has a cooker with an electric hob and oven, a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer. There is plenty of cutlery and crockery. There is an adjacent dining area with seating for 6 people. Well Cottage has a lovely, sunny garden accessed from the sitting room with well-established flowers and trees. There is a patio area for relaxing or having a barbeque.
Just down the road from the self catering holiday cottages is a newly refurbished children’s play area and recreation ground and there are plenty of lovely scenic walks nearby for you to explore the village and the local area.
Our holiday houses are ideally situated for walkers, with the whole of the quieter western valleys close by and the great central fells in Wasdale and Ennerdale. Dick, who knows the area well, is happy to discuss plans for walking, with lots of routes to recommend for all ages and abilities.
The Lake District has much to offer and we are well placed for trips to other Lake District areas – it’s less than an hour’s drive to Keswick and Coniston and day trips are easily done to Windermere, Ambleside and Ullswater. Of course the scenery on the drive is beautiful!
