Welcome to Pond Cottage, Self Catering in Tiverton. Pond Cottage is a charming beautifully furnished luxury stone and cob detached holiday cottage within the grounds of a 15th Century working farm. The holiday cottage is set in 150 acres of beautiful meadows close to the village of Witheridge near Tiverton in Devon.
The self catering cottage lies adjacent to a picturesque pond surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. The farm has sheep, lambs and apple orchards.
Solid oak stable door leading in to the very spacious living room with a slate floor, featuring a wood burner which is the perfect way to heat the house, free logs & kindling are available. There are 2 comfortable leather sofas, TV & DVD player, extensive DVD library & books. French doors leading out into the south facing garden.
Luxury farm house kitchen with custom designed brick units & granite work surfaces, electric range cooker with 3 ovens, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave & washer drier, iron, kettle & toaster. Oak farmhouse table, custom made with local wood. There is granite flooring with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor level.
Beautifully designed solid oak staircase leading up from the living room on to a spacious landing with a seating area with cd player and views of the pond. The whole first floor is solid oak boards.
Double bedroom with beautiful views over the Devon countryside to the south, double bed & antique pine furnishings, en suite shower & QC with all amenities and velux window.
There is also a second double bedroom with views towards the farm house garden, solid oak double bed & antique pine furnishings, en-suite shower & WC with all amenities and velux window.
Outside the cottage is a private enclosed garden with picnic table. A BBQ is also available.
Tiverton is a historic market town occupied by the Romans who used it as a base for their activities in the West Country.
The local museum provides an interesting insight into this aspect of the town’s history. Visit the castle with its famous tapestry hangings and the pannier market held Fridays and Saturdays. There is a newly built leisure centre and a cinema.
The river Exe passes through the town as does the Grand Western canal and horse drawn barge trips take you through the most picturesque countryside. Knightshayes and Killerton House, two National Trust houses with beautiful garden are close by and well worth a visit.
The holiday cottage is surrounded by many cycle paths and is an ideal base for those who enjoy walking.
