Greenends Holiday Cottages a fine country residence built in the last century for use as a hunting lodge, Greenends is now owned and managed by the Atkinson family and offers high quality self catering holiday cottages from which you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Northern Pennines.
We offer three cottages – Keepers Cottage, The Bothy and Chestnut Cottage – and all cottages are furnished and equipped to a very high standard and provide every comfort to ensure your stay with us is as enjoyable as possible. There is car parking space at all cottages and well behaved pets are welcome.
Keepers Cottage:
Keepers Cottage is attached to the owners’ home and accessed by external stone steps. This cosy, self-contained cottage, has a private garden area with views of open countryside from the upstairs living room; it offers ample space for couples and is thoughtfully designed. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster. Washing machine and tumble dryer. Iron/Ironing board. Colour TV, video, DVD player. All bed linen included and towels included. Shaver point. Oil fired central heating throughout and electric stove effect fire in sitting room. All fuel and electricity included in the rent. Garden with furniture and barbecue. Private parking. 1 pet welcome if kept on a lead.
The Bothy:
The Bothy is a truly delightful stone detached barn conversion offering accommodation of a high standard. Retaining a wealth of its original charm and character with attention to detail creating a french contemporary ambiance for couples seeking a romantic break. Ceramic hob, electric integrated double oven, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, blender, dishwasher. Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron/ironing board. Colour TV, video, DVD, radio. Bed linen and towels included. Gas central heating and all electricity included. Electric blanket and dressing robes provided. Cot and high chair available on request. Mobile phone provided. Selection of DVDs, CDs, games and books. Safety deposit box included. Shaver point. Patio and garden area with furniture and gas barbecue. Private parking. 1 pet welcome if kept on a lead due to sheep and alpacas.
Chestnut Cottage:
Chestnut Cottage is a barn conversion which opened in Spring 2007 and has been awarded a 5 Star Self Catering rating. Constructed by local craftsmen, it has been sympathetically converted to the highest standard of comfort creating a lovely cottage for up to four persons. Ceramic hob, electric integrated double oven, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, blender, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron & ironing board, Colour TV, Video, DVD, radio, Bed linen and towels included. Gas central heating and all electricity included. Electric blanket and dressing robes provided. Cot and high chair available on request. Mobile phone provided. An added feature of Greenends and one which pleases children and adults alike is our resident herd of Alpacas, living in a field alongside the properties these are intriguing little animals to say the least.
