Fletchers Combe Farmhouse and Barns offers self catering accommodation located close to the village of Diptford near the market town of Totnes in Devon. Guests can choose from the barn that sleeps up to fourteen guests and the farmhouse that sleeps up to eight guests.
Fletchers Combe Barn – The kitchen is large and fully equipped offering everything you will need including a Rangemaster electric double oven/grill with gas five ring hob, two fridges, freezer, bottle cooler, dishwasher, washing machine and combi microwave. There is a tumble dryer in the outside bicycle shed. Located behind the kitchen is a breakfast bar that has a lower level with comfortable seating for up to fourteen guests. The lounge area has a wood burning stove, TV, CD player, iPod docking station and a range of books, magazines and board games.
Stairs lead down to the three bedrooms that include Robin which has a double bed, Merlin which has two single beds and Otter has a queen size bed. Merlin has zip link beds meaning they can be two single beds or a king size double. There is also a bathroom with a bath and shower. The other bedrooms are located on the first floor including Rock which has a king size bed with en suite, Moorhen has two single beds that can be made into a king size bed, Swallows has a double bed and the final room is Fox that has a double bed and en suite. There is also another bathroom that has a bath, shower and airing cupboard.
The barn has a fully enclosed garden with a large terraced area with seating for fourteen people, a giant chess set and gas and charcoal barbeques. The lawn leads to a fenced stream and play area with swings, slide, sandpit and outdoor games. Beyond is the Stables barn housing the full size skittle alley, table tennis, table football and darts. The bike shed opposite the front door houses four adult and two child size bikes for guest use and offers ample storage for guest’s own sports equipment and bikes. Up above the bike shed is the treehouse with balcony that overlooks the Barns, petanque court, nature trail and the parking area for up to eight cars.
Fletchers Combe Farmhouse has a slate flagged entrance hall and the lounge offers period furniture, a wood burning stove, comfy settees, flat screen TV, DVD player and a range of board games. The kitchen is fully equipped and offers an oil fired Aga, two cookers, electric oven/grill, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a microwave. There is also a utility room that has a washing machine and cloaks/storage.
The beautiful Victorian staircase leads up to the four bedrooms including the master bedroom that has a four poster bed and a fireplace. The second bedroom has a double bed, the third bedroom has two single beds that can be made into a king bed and the fourth bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom has a roll top bath with shower attachment and a modern power shower.
Outside of the farmhouse there is an enclosed garden to the front and side with a gravelled courtyard that has outdoor furniture and a BBQ. Beyond is a one acre paddock with a boating pond, stream and flat area for outdoor games including football, volleyball, basketball and badminton. The indoor stables games room with a full size skittle alley, table tennis/football and darts is a shared facility with guests in the barns.
There are many things to do in the local area including visiting one of the half a dozen National Trust properties and gardens that are within easy reach. There are also great walks in the area including the South Devon Coast that offers miles of walks with superb views and great places to stop off for food.
