Our farmhouse, a traditional stone-built Galloway farmhouse, sympathetically developed into a 4 star guesthouse is an ideal base for a holiday or short break in South West Scotland.
Following a hearty welcome, your hostess Mandy will instantly make you feel at home and you will be served refreshments in our warm, sunny conservatory. It is not uncommon for guests to comment on the views. They are absolutely stunning from various points on the property and you cannot fail to enjoy the breath-taking view to Loch Ken and the River Dee.
Airds offers three spacious en-suite rooms with glorious views. These rooms are equipped with digital Television, free Wi-Fi access, hair dryers and tea/coffee making facilities. There are also two smaller rooms available by request. All room rates include breakfast with a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, locally sourced traditional cooked fare and free range eggs from our special breed hens and ducks.
On warm summer evenings, guests may wish to relax on our sheltered south-facing terrace and enjoy the fine view, or stroll in our 6-acre glen & woodland. We encourage wildlife at the farmhouse and there are a wide variety of species of birds to be seen at our feeding tables – our local woodpecker is a favourite attraction from the dining room window at meal times. Red Kites and Buzzards are known to be nesting adjacent to the farmhouse.
Although we are not licensed at present, we are able to offer guests the use of a “drinks fridge” in the dining room for their alcoholic purchases and glasses can be supplied as requested. You may wish to enjoy your favourite tipple in our newly renovated residents lounge or relax in our comfortable conservatory and let your stresses and cares disappear.
