Welcome to Aberhyddnant Farm Cottages, Bed & Breakfast in Powys. Bryniau Pell is especially suitable for a small family break or romantic get-away while Nyth y Wennol suits families with older children who need a bit more room. You could book both cottages for a family get together or for a group of friends to unwind.
There could be no better place to spend time walking in the glorious countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park, enjoying the clear, fresh air then returning to your cosy cottage for a cup of hot chocolate or glass of wine.
We are the ideal location for trips to museums and galleries, country persuits, or just chilling.
The two cottages have been sympathetically converted from existing farm buildings. At one time Nyth y Wennol would have been a hive of activity as this was the old dairy where butter and cheese were made for home use and for sale. Bryniau Pell has been converted from a cart shed and hay loft – traditionally an ideal place for the farm lads to court their true loves.
Both cottages boast well equipped kitchens with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee maker. There is a shared utility/boot room with auto-washing machines and tumble drier.
Each cottage has a collection of books, videos and board games as well as fresh spring water which is tested every year. They are also equipped with ‘allergy friendly’ pillows and quilts etc.
Children are very welcome with cots, fireguards, stair gates and high chairs available.
Well behaved pets by arrangement by sadly no dogs during the lambing periods – for obvious reasons.
There are pretty gardens with tables and chairs and Bar-B-Q’s. For children there is a shared, enclosed play area with a variety of equipment and a play room for all year round enjoyment
Bryniau Pell – Distant Hills
Sleeps 4 plus 2 infants – 2 bedrooms and nursery.
The well appointed kitchen leads through the dining area to a comfortable sitting room with panoramic views across the Beacons. There is a wealth of exposed beams, a multi-fuel fire, colour TV, video and CD player. Also downstairs is a handy cloakroom with toilet and washbasin.
Upstairs the bedrooms (double & twin &) are all furnished in Welsh pine. The Nursery is furnished with pine cota and cotbed with attractive bedding. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet and hand basin.
The cottage has home-grown oak floors throughout complimented by a selection of interesting rugs
Nyth y Wennol – Swallows Nest
Sleeps 6 plus 2 infants – 3 bedrooms
This cottage has a light kitchen with breakfast bar and radio. The sitting room has old oak beams, two comfortable sofas, chairs, colour TV and video, oak dining table and chairs. There is a multi-fuel fire for extra comfort. Also downstairs is a toilet, shower and hand basin.
Upstairs the bedrooms (double & two twin) are tastefully furnished in traditional style. The large bathroom has bath, toilet and hand basin.
This cottage, with the exception of the kitchen, has warm fitted carpets
throughout.
Y Beudy – The Byre
For groups and family booking both cottages Y Beudy offers the opportunity to relax and dine together. This room has two large tables and four sofas, an almost real log fire and a warm welcome. It is accessed through the playroom and makes an ideal place to join together.
