Self Catering Saint Austell

Welcome to Sticky’s Place Holiday Cottage, Self Catering Saint  Austell. Sticky’s Place Holiday Cottage is situated in the grounds of the proprietors house, which is believed to have been a clay mine captains house that is 100yrs old. Sticky’s Place is a granite building that has been used for approximately 20yrs as living accommodation and has recently undergone total refurbishment and meets all safety standards. The cottage is fitted with wired in smoke detectors and has a fire blanket and extinguisher.

The Accommodation consists of UPVC double glazing throughout, and the entrance leads to a cosy open plan lounge area comprising of a double sofa bed (3ft 8in mattress), wall mounted flat screen freeview TV with DVD player with over 60 TV channels, a VHF radio with iPod docking station, electric wall mounted heating system and a log effect electric fire, the lounge is carpeted. There is an iron and ironing board.

Leading off the lounge is an open plan kitchenette, which has a sink, conventional oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, small fridge, electric hob and a Halogen Work- Top Oven. There is no freezer in the cottage but guests will have access to one in the conservatory in the main house. There is ample cupboard space and all crockery, cutlery, kitchen linen and kitchen utensils are included.

Leading off the lounge area is a bathroom which has a cubicle shower, WC and small handbasin. The bathroom is tiled and has a wall mounted heater. Towels are provided during your stay and will be changed twice weekly.

Leading off the lounge you will find the main bedroom which contains a full size double bed with an orthopaedic mattress, wardrobe, bedside tables and drawers. There is a freeview TV with over 60 TV and over 20 radio channels. The bedroom is carpeted and tastefully decorated.  All bedlinen is included during your stay  and will be changed weekly. The sofa in the lounge area can be used as another double bed, and bedlinen can be provided for this bed also. There is a hair dryer in the bedroom.

Those hiring the cottage will have exclusive use of the hot tub for two one hour sessions each day, at other times other people may be using it also. This is an ideal way of relaxing after a day out and about. There is also a BBQ and a patio table for you to use if you want to to eat al fresco, and sun loungers.

There is also a travel cot, a highchair and a buggy available for use at no extra cost.

You can find just about all you need at the local village store which houses a post office as well. The village also has a small friendly garage which includes the sale of petrol/diesel. Nanpean has 2 churches and a small Chinese takeaway. All of these are within a short walking distance from Sticky’s Place.

Other amenities that can be found locally to Nanpean are a medical centre which controls a cluster of doctors surgeries very close by. A supermarket can be found only a very short 10 minute car journey to the local villages of Roche or St Dennis. A chemist can be found in St Dennis, as well as a Barclays bank.

A regular bus service can be used from Nanpean which will take you into the local town of St Austell (6 miles) or Newquay (10 miles). Truro is only 18 miles away from Nanpean and has a lot to offer in the way of shops, restaurants, quaint side street artists galleries and its historic cathedral.

A walkers trail can be found in and around Nanpean which gives you the chance to have a insight in relation to the clay mining industry.
