Welcome to Trefechan Wen Cottage,Self Catering in Pembrokeshire.Trefachan Wen Cottage is a delightful holiday cottage, on the spectacular north coast of the Pembrokeshire National Park, Trefechan Wen Cottage sits in the tiny hamlet of Llanwnda in Goodwick, just a mile from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with its dramatic cliffs, smugglers bays and breathtaking views.
The holiday cottage has 2 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 4 plus travel cot: 1 twin on the ground floor and 1 double in a galleried ‘crog’ loft with sloping ceilings reached via a narrow spiral staircase (with stairgate) from the lounge. Bed linen provided (no bed linen supplied for cot).
Bathroom on ground floor: with toilet, washbasin, bath with shower over and recessed lighting.
Lounge/Dining Room: traditional high beamed ceiling with exposed timbers, feature stone fireplace with log-burning stove, comfortable seating for 4, 28″ screen TV, video, DVD player, music system, well stocked bookcase. Children’s games, dining table and chairs seating 4 plus highchair. Stable doors to garden and courtyard.
Kitchen: country style with fitted units, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine.
Attached lockable outhouse: tumble dryer and drying rail. Suitable for storing wetsuits, bicycles etc.
Grounds: private rear enclosed sheltered garden with patio and garden furniture – views across to Preseli Hills. Ample parking for cars, space for boats, trailers etc. Front courtyard and entrance shared with owners. NB: There are the ruins of a traditional stone Welsh longhouse in the front courtyard, care with children please.
The self catering holiday cottage is perfect for a romantic break or a family holiday all year round, the cottage is ideal for walking and cycling. Horse riding is available from the stables just a short walk away, with watersports, boat trips and sailing easily accessible at Goodwick, which is only a mile from the cottage.
Ferry trips over to Ireland are also on the doorstep at Fishguard Harbour. The area is an absolute delight for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike, the National Trust protects much of the coastline and there are several island bird sanctuaries. A short drive will take you to Strumble Head, gloriously wild with an offshore lighthouse – a great place to watch the sunset.
Seals and dolphins can be spotted from the Coast Path, with seal pups often seen on the secluded beaches in the autumn. The cottage is in an idyllic location, with many award-winning beaches nearby, offering peaceful tranquillity for those who want to escape, and unrivalled opportunities for those craving adventure.
