The guest house is set in one of the most picturesque corners of England and is only a short walk to the centre of town and all its amenities.
All our guest rooms are en-suite and have commanding views of the surrounding mountains, to both the front and rear of the guest house. One room is superior with a Queen size bed in & the twin can be twin or super king. The guest bedrooms are of very high quality and have co-ordinated furniture and fabrics. All of the guest rooms have flat screen digital televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and complementary toiletries. Our rear facing rooms have views over the Skiddaw mountain range and those at the front have equally fine views of the Borrowdale fells, Causey Pike, and Grisdale Pike.
Breakfast at the Thornleigh Guest House is served each morning in our attractive, light and spacious dining room. Here you can relax and finalise those plans for the day while enjoying our hospitality. We provide our guests with a delicious freshly prepared full English breakfast or a fine selection of lighter seasonal options, in addition to quality cereals, fruits and juices. Vegetarian choices and special diets are catered for by arrangement.
If you wish to tour by car, walk, climb or cycle during your stay we can provide help and advice on these and many more activities in the Lake District in close proximity to Thornleigh Guest House. In particular we are experienced in mountaineering activities throughout the Lake District and beyond, in all seasons, and can provide detailed advice on walking, scrambling and climbing routes of outstanding quality.
