Bed & Breakfast in Bradwell

Welcome to The Six Bells Inn,Bed & Breakfast Bradwell. The Six Bells Inn is a perfect country escape set on the edge of the village green, near the duck pond in the pretty Suffolk village of Bardwell. Originating in the late 1500s, the Inn was enlarged in the 19th century and more recently by ourselves. It now offers a characterful blend of old and new. Totally surrounded by countryside, it offers total peace and tranquillity, great food and a country atmosphere. Yet due to good major roads links of the M11/A11 & A14 it is a surprisingly easy drive from London and the Midlands, And also easy to visit nearby towns and cities such as Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and Norwich.

TRADITIONAL WARMTH

We offer all the delights of a Country Inn – excellent food and drink in a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. The bar and lounge offers you a cosy haven for a relaxing drink and friendly conversation, It may be of interest to know that the inn and surrounding areas were used in the filming of the famous TV series “Dads Army” and a photograph of the cast hangs in the bar.

There is a natural and comforting ambience to our country-style beamed dining room with its old Suffolk range making it a lovely setting for your dinner. Furthermore, our pretty conservatory with its views over the garden and countryside provides a light and airy complimentary dining area.

COUNTRY DINING

Gordon Ferguson and his team prepare a varying 3 course Dinner menu each evening ( See Here). The dishes range from the contemporary to the traditional. Prime local produce, fresh fish, Suffolk pork and lamb and other meats, and are prepared daily for you to enjoy.

We also offer a vegetarian menu and a small evening supper menu. We can prepare additional vegetarian dishes, gluten free dishes and cater for other dietary needs if we are advised of your requirements prior to your stay.

We offer a traditional Full English Breakfast featuring our butcher’s homemade pork chipolatas (the butcher is a Local family owned with over 80 years trading) and Suffolk produced bacon.

Since our guests spend their days away from the Inn exploring the many places to visit in East Anglia we no longer open for lunch except from sundays.

PEACE AND TRANQUILLITY. BEDROOMS WITH A COTTAGE ATMOSPHERE.

Next to the Inn, our old barn and stables have been converted into ten comfortable cottage-style bedrooms. Set around the courtyard and all situated on the ground floor, they offer you a peaceful and charming retreat.

Each is individually colour co-ordinated with solid pine furniture and en suite shower-room, with lovely views over the unspoilt East Anglian countryside but with all modern facilities – colour TV and radio, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and individually controllable heating.

All our rooms are strictly non-smoking bedrooms.

For Speacial occaisions extras such as a bottle of wine or champagne or a basket of flowers in the room can be arranged.

On a nice day relax and enjoy a pot of tea or cool drink in our courtyard overlooking or pretty garden.
