Bordering Longniddry Golf Course (which welcomes non members) this outstanding luxury Wolsey Lodge B&B has magnificent views of the Firth of Forth towards the Ochil Hills. Visitors enjoying the large, pretty garden find it amazingly tranquil – the only noise being birdsong and the ‘crack’ of golf swings!
This B&B is classically furnished with interesting antiques, glass, furniture and paintings, and has three spacious bedrooms, all with good-sized bathrooms, two being en suite.
Crisp linens, cosy rugs, elegant cushions and top notch toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities and delicious breakfasts all add to a wonderful experience. Wolsey Lodge guests can relax in front of an open fire or use the tennis court, depending on the weather.
Being 12 miles from Edinburgh, close to the A1 and just 20 minutes from town via the frequent trains make The Dean ideal for sightseeing, shopping or cultural visits to the numerous local attractions. A golfer’s paradise, it’s handy for many famous courses including Muirfield. The area is steeped in history, with stately homes such as Gosford and Lennoxlove, a distillery, museums (including the Museum of Flight at Haddington). The local beach is only five minutes away and the sandy beaches of Seacliff and North Berwick are easily accessible.
The Dean is spacious and elegant, each room filled with curio and antiques of interest and accommodation to a high standard.
There is a separate Drawing room for guests, and accommodating a bigger party there is a large formal Dining Room which seats 16 people, together with other seating areas.
There are two beautifully decorated double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, or twin/double bedroom with private bathroom, depending on which way the rooms are let.
