Station House Vets

The animal care team at Station House Vets are highly regarded in the local area and are known for the quality of service they consistently deliver.

We offer the finest facilities to treat the full spectrum of companion animals and pets. Small animals also benefit from some high-tech equipment on site. A good example is digital x-ray (invested in for equine), this allows us to send out images instantly, when urgent specialist opinion is crucial. Preventive medicine forms a large part of the practice, as it’s very important to make sure your pet’s vaccinations are kept up-to-date, along with worming and other care procedures. Nutrition is a very important factor in ensuring good health, and we can advise you how best to feed your pet.

Our consulting rooms are very modern, a calm, friendly environment, and the treatment areas are light and airy with stainless steel kennels and pens where animals spend their time before and after treatment. These areas are clean and spacious, and you can be sure the vet nurses ensure that all their requirements are met while they are with us, including, of course, lots of TLC.

A very thorough clinical record is kept for every patient, which gives us a clear picture of past and present problems, and this can even point us toward any future problems that we need to keep an eye on. Our team care passionately for the wellbeing of all animals. You will find them very helpful and sympathetic to your concerns and happy to answer any questions you may have.

Equine

The equine practice at Station House Vets operates from Teal House which opened in 2006 as one of the best equine healthcare facilities in North Yorkshire. Created and run by respected equine veterinary surgeon Edmund Collins, the facility includes the latest technology, an essential tool in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Much of our caseload is orientated around maintaining the fitness of all kinds of sport, leisure and thoroughbred horses. We have a large number of clients with both flat and jump racehorses, point-to-pointers, eventers, hunters, show jumpers, dressage and endurance horses, which has given us a great deal of experience in dealing with conditions that affect high performance animals.

Although we carry out most routine health care on site, a major benefit to you is our success as a ‘first opinion’ practice. For instance, if a complex, more intensive surgical procedure should be necessary, we will give you independentadvice and professionally manage your animal’s transfer to the most appropriate UK equine hospital.

Our successful relationship with busy working owners is built upon an understanding of clients’ needs, good communication, professional integrity and utmost care for their animal’s welfare.
