Welcome to Mossgill Loft, Self Catering in Kirkby-Stephen. Mossgill Loft was originally the Sunday schoolroom and part of the Baptist Chapel. It is approached by a short flight of stone steps and has been converted into a cosy flat for two people. This conversion was carried out eight years ago with special attention to detail, keeping many of the original features.
Mossgill Loft has a large living/kitchen room with an open fire, with a selection of books, games and DVD’s. Leading from the kitchen is the bedroom and bathroom.
Outside there is a paved sitting out area. We can store bicycles in our barn which is between our house and the Loft and is secure.
Close to the famous Settle Carlisle Railway and situated 8 miles from the Yorkshire Dales National
Park & 45 minutes from the Lake District.
The Smardale Nature Reserve just a mile away is home to red squirrels,
deer and a host of birds and plants.
Close to the famous Pennine way and Coast to Coast walk the area
is an excellent centre for walking and cycling.
The small market town of Kirkby Stephen
is just 4 miles away, notable for its many
antique shops, Appleby, once the county
town of Westmorland is just 8 miles away.
This Victorian Chapel Conversion has
created attractive holiday
accommodation, retaining many original features
and furnished to a high standard.
There is fishing on the River Eden and a golf course nearby.

The connecting fire door with the Chapel is kept locked at all times. It is centrally heated, and all fuel, electricity, logs, coal and linen are supplied in the rent The outlook is across the fellside village towards open farmland. It is a very popular holiday option and we get many repeat bookings.
