Self Catering in Gwynedd

Welcome to Hendre Mynach Touring Caravan & Camping Park, Self Catering in Gwynedd. Hendre Mynach Touring Caravan & Camping ParkĀ is an award winning site, delightfully situated between the coast road and the sea, a pleasant 20 minute walk along the promenade to the seaside town of Barmouth, on the Mawddach Estuary. Hendre Mynach is ideal for both couples and families, who are especially welcome during the school holidays.

We have all the facilities you would expect from a 5 star site including modern shower blocks and disabled facilities, with hard and soft standings and electric hook ups. We have a childrens play area, there is an on site shop, cafe and take-away. We have special offers for couples out of peak season, please telephone or email for details.

With the beautiful, clean, safe, sandy beach just a 100metres from Hendre Mynach, there is always plenty of space for the family to play, sunbathe and swim. Sea-fishing is very popular from the shore and boat trips are available from Barmouth harbour for fishing off-shore. The promenade takes you straight to Barmouth town centre, a pleasant and safe 20 min walk, where there are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels with bar-food. There is a leisure centre, amusement park and donkey-rides and trampolines on the beach nearer the town. Barmouth is proud to have the European Blue Flag Award for its beach. A small land train travels up and down the promenade, fun for all the family, and the local bus to Barmouth stops very near the site. We are right on the National Cycle Route No. 8.

MOUNTAINS AND ESTUARY: The Snowdonia National Park is right on the doorstep with the foothills of Cadair Idris just 10 miles away by car. There are many lovely mountain and estuary walks in the area, varying in difficulty, please ask at the site office for detailed information. The famous and beautiful Mawddach Estuary stretches from Barmouth to Dolgellau. You can drive down to Dolgellau and back up again to Fairbourne or walk or cycle down the footpath along the old railway line, starting by crossing the famous Barmouth Bridge, from which there are spectacular views of the estuary. Ideal site for bird-watching with a RSPB site at Penmaenpool right on the footpath. Bike hire is available in Barmouth if required.

CLOSE BY:Within 10 miles of the caravan park there are two golf courses, river and lake fishing, pony trekking, sailing, Harlech swimming pool, Harlech Castle, Fairbourne Miniature Railway and mountain biking. Further afield there is the famous Portmeirion Italianate Village, Caernarfon Castle, Betws-y-Coed, Beddgelert, Snowdon, Celtica at Machynlleth, Ffestiniog and Talyllyn Miniature Railways, and much, much more. There is simply so much to do!
