BPA Architects is a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm.

BPA Architects have a wealth of experience in the design of both new build and refurbishment healthcare projects, in recent years particularly related to good design for dementia. Our clients include various Housing Associations and Care Home providers.

BPA’s specialisation in designing effectlively for people affected by dementia stems from a passion for inclusive design and a long-standing relationship with Stirling University’s Dementia Services Development Centre. We put the research into practice in the contexts of both new build and refurbishment projects.

BPA have completed 18 overcladding and window replacement projects, all but one of them for Colleges and Universities. Sketch designs and projects on site number a further 27. The objective is to provide older buildings with the appearance and performance of new ones, with work carried out while the buildings remain occupied and fully operational.

Founded as Burnett Pollock Associates in 1974 by Partners David Burnett and Richard Pollock, BPA Architecture has established itself as a pioneering Architects’ practice dedicated to delivering value and dynamic solutions for its clients.

BPA has particular specialisations in the areas of University campus new build development and refurbishment, including overcladding, and in designing for the elderly, in particular dementia care – again in new build, extensions and refurbishment and interior design.

In 2012 Rosemary Parker was made Partner, and Ricky Pollock took on the role of Consultant, due to his increasing commitment to the Dementia Research Development Centre at Stirling University. Kerry Henderson and Liz Fuggle were also made Associates at that time.
