Welcome to Balnagore Moss Estate, Bed & Breakfast in Scotland. Balnagore Moss Estate: Our secluded holiday cottages at Machrie on the Isle of Arran, Scotland are ideal for getting away, offering stunning landscapes for hill walking, wild life, bird watching, fishing, golf and riding. Add to that amazing sunsets, sea and hill views as well as the Standing Stones on Machrie Moor and Brodick Castle providing some intriguing local history. The cottages accommodate from 4 to 11 people and dogs are welcome.
Balnagore:
This former farmhouse at Machrie looks across the Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre. The house is approximately 600 yards from the sea through the fields. Standing on its own, it is surrounded by the most wonderful views with the hills forming a very beautiful backdrop. There is more than ample parking available.
The main sitting room has been converted from the old barn. An unusual feature, the open fireplace has a window looking out to sea. The other end of the sitting room is the dining area and fully fitted kitchen. There is also another small sitting room with open fire.
Balnagore has 3 double, 2 twin and 1 single bedroom sleeping up to 11 people.
Rowanbank:
Rowanbank is a white painted old Arran cottage which has been recently renovated to very high standard. Set in the rural west coast of the island it has superb countryside views and is only 2 miles to the nearest 9 hole golf course.
It is situated at Machrie with spectacular scenery across the Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre and is only a few minutes walk to the sea.
The cottage is entered by a large south facing porch with plenty of room for two to three people to sit. From here we enter the hall/dining room with fireplace and door to the garden. Parking is plentiful and a local bus service runs to Blackwaterfoot from the nearby country road.
There is a fully fitted kitchen adjacent to the hall/dining room with equipment including sink, electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and electric mixer. Next to the kitchen in the utility room is a sink, washing machine and tumble dryer and cloakroom.
Comfort at Rowanbank includes a large sitting room with open fireplace and 2 en-suite twin bedrooms one with a walk-in shower. There is also a single child’s 2.5 foot bed in the dressing room. Rowanbank sleeps 4-5 people.
Cairnfield:
Cairnfield is a former farm house built in the late 1870’s and extended in the 1920s. The approach is down an attractive farm lane which leads into the old farmyard with plenty of parking space.
There is a local bus service from the bottom of the lane which runs to Blackwaterfoot.
The main sitting room is spacious with a open fire and a bow window, with fine views across the Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre. Next door there is a small sitting room suitable for watching television.
The fully fitted kitchen has equipment which includes fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, double stainless steel sink, belling hot cupboard and Moulinex mixer. There is a large kitchen table. The utility room off the kitchen has a washing machine, tumble drier and a small chest freezer, off this room there is a handy walk-in shower room. The kitchen also has a serving hatch to the dining room, which seats 10 people.
There are 2 x double 2 x twin and 2 x single rooms (1 being a 2.5 foot child’s bed) accommodating 10 people. 2 of the rooms including the master bedroom are en-suite and there are two other bathrooms.
Known as Scotland in miniature, the Isle of Arran is an ideal location for short and long breaks.
